The beautiful color formations in the gemstone are the foundation of my jewelry design.  My pieces usually start with a gemstone, and then evolve into compositions in which the gemstone remains the primary subject. To me, art is a synthesis of my personal feelings, the gemstone and colors that inspire me and my materials and techniques. Serenity and uniqueness are my primary goals.

I began making jewelry in 2004 when I decided to restring some pearls I got from my mom’s estate.  After that I purchased bead mixes and kits and learned the basics.  From there I went on to teach myself everything I could about making jewelry by reading books, magazines, and purchasing tutorials from other artists.  KL Jewelry Design is a home based jewelry design studio specializing in unique one of a kind pieces of jewelry for anything.  Contact me for custom orders or for some types of jewelry repairs.  I will also redesign older pieces of jewelry for a fresh new look.

I love working with wire and strive to incorporate some wire piece that I made in everything I make.  I consider myself a wire artist and a beader because I wire wrap and work with beads.  I am self-taught in the techniques I use but I did take one class on making glass beads.
